Requests for Application
Do you have a new or in-progress research project that may align with GFRI’s research priorities?
Use the form below to submit a brief overview of your idea and learn more about our Nutrition Research Integrity Principles. You can learn more about our previously supported research here.
A non-exhaustive list of our potential research interests includes projects involving wheat-, corn-, and/or oat-based foods and the following:
- Cardiometabolic health
- Interactions with weight loss and obesity drugs
- Strategies for increasing whole grain consumption using enriched grains as catalysts
- Deeper understanding of nutrient contributions versus processing and/or other ingredients
- Novel combinations of wheat-, corn-, and/or oat-based foods and other grain ingredients toward enhancing nutrient profiles
We value high-quality human feeding trials but would evaluate other study designs. Grant amounts range from $50,000 to $300,000, including indirects, and we will consider multi-year investigations requesting larger funding packages.
A comprehensive, detailed proposal is NOT necessary at this stage. We invite you to submit 2-3 paragraphs outlining your research question and potential approach, and we will then follow up with you to discuss the needs for a full proposal. (We will contact everyone who submits an idea to discuss next steps.) We are open to funding research that is already underway, as noted above, as well as new projects.
